William F. Wall, Jr. age 77 years died in the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, Masachusetts on Thursday, November 11, 2010. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on February 25, 1933; he was the son of the late William F. & Mary (Connolly) Wall. He graduated from Norwood High School with the class of 1951, and later earned his Bachelor's Degree from Dean College in Criminal Justice in 1976. Mr. Wall served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He has been a resident of East Dennis, Massachusetts for the past 10 years moving there from Walpole, Massachusetts.
He was a police officer for 36 years, working for the Town of Walpole's Police Department. After six years as a patrolman, he earned the rank of Sergeant in 1968. He retired from the Police Department in 1998.
Mr. Wall was a 32 Degree Mason at the Mount Horeb Masonic Lodge in South Dennis and served as a Eucharistic Minister at Saint Lucy Church in Florida and at Our Lady of the Cape in Brewster, Massachusetts. He was very active with Habitat for Humanity in Florida. In his spare time he enjoyed playing golf.
Beloved husband of Geraldine (Hale) Wall. Loving father of Gregory Wall of Bridgewater the late Brenda, the late Christopher, and the late Andrew. Brother of Mary Tarchea of Walpole, Peter Wall of Norwood, the late Joseph Wall, and the late Frank Wall. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Sunday, November 14, 2010 from 1-4 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be private.
