William G. Simmons

Mr. William G. Simmons age 91 years died in the Golden Living Care Facility in Norwood Massachusetts on Saturday Morning, June 14th, 2008. Born in his family's Walpole home on March 14, 1917, to his parents George and Ella (Christian) Simmons. He attended the Walpole Public Schools.

He was a resident of Norton for the past 28 years moving there from Walpole

Mr. Simmons was a design engineer , and was the owner operator of Simmons Sales and Service on Washington Street Walpole for many years.

He was the husband of the late Evelyn M. (Lightbody) Simmons , whom he would tell, he married on a Friday, the 13th, in 1939 in the South Walpole Methodist Church. He thought it was the luckiest day of his life!

loving father of William L. Simmons of Middleboro, Patricia Everson of Chartley, Stephen M. Simmons of Blackstone. cherished grandfather of 10 and great grandfather of 13 brother of Pricilla Rondeau , Ellen Rondeau both of Mendon, Madeline Taft of Webster, the late Elma Simmons , the late Ada Simmons Hilton, and the late Ruth Olney.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Memorial Service in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole on Saturday, June 28th, 2008 at 11AM. Visiting hours private. Interment in the Terrace Hill Cemetery Walpole.
