William H. Rumbel age 82 years died in the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center on Thursday, November 15, 2007. Born in Sharon, PA on July 2, 1925 to his parents Robert & Hazel (McCleary) Rumbel, he graduated from Roslindale High School with the class of 1943. After high school Mr. Rumbel served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. He had been living in Walpole since 1992, coming previously from Norwood where he had lived for 37 years.
Mr. Rumbel worked as a letter carrier for 35 years with the United States Postal Service, and most recently he worked as a crossing guard in Walpole at the corner of East Street and Elm Street.
He was a member of the DAV in Norwood #90.
Beloved husband of Rita A. (Barry) Rumbel. Loving father of Susan M. Johanson and her husband Stephen of Walpole, Robert W. Rumbel and hs wife Gena of CT, William B. Rumbel and his wife Claire of Mansfield, and Thomas P. Rumbel of Walpole. Cherished grandfather of John and Stephanie Johanson of Walpole, Matthew, Michael, and Melanie Rumbel of CT, David, Drew, and Colin of Mansfield, Courtney and Paul of Walpole. Brother of the late Robert Rumbel, Charolette Lineham, and Phyllis Drew. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral service that will be held in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home on Monday, November 19, 2007 @ 10:00 AM.
