William Roger "Bill" Percy, age 81, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at his home in Norton, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 20, 1940, he was the son of the late William R. and Helen M. (Parkhurst) Percy. He was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1959.
Bill began his working career while still in high school, taking a part-time position with Rollridge Fence Company in Walpole. Following his graduation, he went to work with Padula Construction, where he learned the masonry trade. Three years later, Bill hung up his masonry tools, and took a job with Colony Gas in Walpole. Bill returned to his trade, forming Walpole Masonry with his partners, Skip and Charlie Buckman.
After moving to Mansfield, Bill took a full-time position with Construction General in Walpole and helped his friend, Paul Ryan, with his plumbing business on a part-time basis. Bill went on to work with Creative Cabinets, working in the installations department. Five years later, Bill returned once more to his masonry trade, helping with stone and brick work at Boston College for a year. Bill laid all his tools down in 2013, retiring to Norton, where he spent time overlooking the Country Club.
While Bill stayed busy, he always made time for auto racing. He was a devoted NASCAR fan and loved the opportunity to crew his son's racing teams. Bill traveled with his son, Kevin, to Seekonk Speedway, Whip City Speedway, and Thompson Speedway, ensuring the cars was always in perfect condition for the races. He also enjoyed watching the rodeo, often times taking his daughters to the local bull shows. As a devoted family man, Bill was most happy when he was surrounded by those he loved, especially his grandchildren.
