William L. Manning, (Bill) 72, of Walpole, died on Sunday, February 26, 2012 in his Walpole, Massachusetts home.
Devoted husband of Janet (Crowley) Manning, and loving father of Vincent L. Manning and his wife Elizabeth of Norfolk, Jeffery L. Manning and his wife Robin of Northboro, and John J. Manning and his wife Bethany of Franklin. He loved and was adored by his grandchildren, Jack, Matthew, Nicholas, William, Harry, Oliver, and Amelia. He was the son of the late John J. Manning and Mary (Cilley) Manning.
He is survived by his brother George of Osterville and Boynton Beach, FL and his sister, Elizabeth Neville, of Framingham. Brother as well to the late Bertha Bushey, Fr. Justinian Manning, John Manning, James Manning, Catherine Manning, Mary Kiley, Anna Patterson, and Gertrude Barry. Loving brother in law of Marilyn Quinn and James Quinn of Osterville and Naples, FL, and Daniel Bushey of Framingham. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was born and raised in Newton, graduated from St. Mary's High School in Waltham and from Northeastern University, where he studied electrical engineering. He worked at Raytheon Co. and forty years for EG&G and Perkin Elmer Op.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visiting hours Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 4 to 8PM at the James H. Delany & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A funeral mass will be held from St. Jude Church, 86 Main Street, Norfolk on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 10AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute ("DFCI") and Pan-Mass Challenge ("PMC") c/o Vincent Manning 7 Applewood Road, Norfolk, MA 02056.
