William Loughlin Kelly age 98 years died in the Charlwell House in Norwood, Massachusetts on Friday, September 18, 2009. Born in Chicago, Illinois on November 13, 1910; he was the son of the late Hugh and Nora T. (McHugh) Kelly. He graduated from the Mechanic Arts High School in Boston, Massachusetts with the class of 1928. He went on to graduate from Suffolk University Law School. He has been a resident of Walpole for the past year moving from Kingston where he spent 6 years, and previously from Scituate where he spent 50 years.
Mr. Kelly worked Component Marketing Services in Norwood, Massachusetts. Previously he worked at Energy Sciences and retired in 1981. In addition he was a staff member at the Rad Lab of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and worked at Raytheon.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Scituate, the Hibernian Society Plymouth Chapter, and was a Founding Member of the Scituate Waterfront Club.
Mr Kelly was passionate about Ireland and electronics; but his greatest passion were his grandchildren.
Beloved husband of Frances E. (Ross) Kelly. Loving father of Elizabeth F. Kelly of Scituate, Frank Kelly of Walpole, and Mary Ann Slawson of Kingston. Cherished grandfather of 6 and great grandfather of 1. Brother of Winifred Snover of Fl, Anna Kelly of FL and the late Hubert Kelly. Also survived by several nices and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 10:30 AM. Visiting hours are Tuesday, morning from 8:30AM to 10AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is in Saint Joseph's Cemetery in West Roxbury, Massachusetts.
