William Hemphill

Mr. William Hemphill of Sharon age 82 died in Epoch of Sharon on Sunday, November 12, 2006. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 11, 1924 to his parents Benjamin & Emily (Yates) Hemphill. He graduated from Central High School in Philadelphia, before honorably serving his country in the United States Army in the 28th Infantry during World War II. During his time in combat he was awarded two Purple Hearts.

After his discharge from the Army Mr. Hemphill went on to attend Georgia Tech.

Mr. Hemphill was the owner of American Emergency Medical Specialist which is a company that teaches CPR and first aid instruction.

He was a member of the Men's Club in Sharon

Beloved husband of Ina S. (Rosen) Hemphill and the late Delores (Kurnzs) Hemphill Loving father of Lynda Volpe of Oklahoma, and Lora Hemphill of Pennsylvania Step-father of Bonnie Kim Godas of Braintree and Bruce Raffelson of Florida Cherished grandfather of 5 and great-grandfather of 3. Brother of Benjamin Hemphill of PA, Louise Bridges of CA and Janice Bielder of PA. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral service in the Epiphany Episcopal Church 62 Front Street Walpole on Thursday @ 10AM. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment in Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon.
