William J. "Billy" Helmboldt

William J. "Billy" Helmboldt, age 71, passed away on Monday April 11,2016 in Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 18, 1944, he was the son of the late Albert and Josephine (Cummings) Helmboldt. Billy was raised in Boston, and attended Dorchester High.

Billy later moved to Roslindale and in 1978 he become a father welcoming his daughter Jenney. He worked for Gold Sale Rubber and would often bring home rubber ducks for Jenney to play with. He later moved to Norwood before settling in Walpole in 1988. Billy took a position at Hollingsworth and Vose in East Walpole, handling their shipping and receiving.

Billy will be remembered as a kind man, a faithful New York Yankees fan, and an avid collector of all things related to the New York Yankees. He was also a longtime fan of the New York Giants. In his spare time, Billy enjoyed bowling and playing pool and playing in a league in his younger years. In addition, Billy enjoyed a good round of golf and his time spent relaxing down by the water with his fishing pole.

Brother of Edward Helmboldt of California, Rose Gianopoulos of North Attleboro, Helen Smolak, Rita Helmboldt both of Foxboro, the late James Helmboldt, the late John Helmboldt, the late Frank Helmboldt and the late Albert t. Helmboldt, Jr.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Billy's Life Celebration on Monday, April 18, 2016 from 4-8 PM and Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 9-9:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Walpole Housing Authority Community Room c/o Diamond Pond Terrace Walpole, MA 02081.
