William J. Gillis

William J Gillis Jr., 51, lost his battle with mental illness and addiction on October 25, 2018. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 14, 1967, he was the son of the late William J. and Barbara A. (Foley) Gillis, and he was raised in Roslindale.

William was the beloved father of Brittany A Copithorne and Army Specialist Thomas W. Copithorne. Billy also leaves behind siblings, Mark and his wife Christene Gillis of Irmo SC, Mary (Gillis) and her husband Steven King of Walpole, Neil and his wife Nancy Gillis of Beverly MA. Billy also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

William owned and operated Brittco Trucking for many years. He was also a devoted employee of A1 Paving for a long time. Billy enjoyed his trucks and loved taking care of all the cars he had over the years.

The family wishes to thank all those who have helped Billy throughout his journey.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend William's Life Celebration on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 1 to 2 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Funeral Home Service will follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will be private.
