William Anderson Emswiler

August 1, 1937 — March 26, 2018

William Anderson Emswiler, III, age 80, passed away peacefully in the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich, Massachusetts on Monday, March 26, 2018. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 1, 1937, he was the son of the late William A. Emswiler, Jr. and Helen Alice (Johnstone) Emswiler. He spent his early years in Norwood before his family settled in Westwood, Massachusetts. Bill graduated from Westwood High School with the Class of 1956. After graduation, Bill enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country. While in the Air Force, Bill met his wife to be, Jane E. Brill, through mutual friends and they were married on November 16, 1958 in Malverne, New York.

Upon his discharge from the service, Bill and Jane made their home together in Kommack on Long Island, New York, where they welcomed their three children. Bill utilized the technical training that he received in the service to obtain a career in the microwave field, working for various companies. He and Jane moved their young family to Walpole, Massachusetts in 1971 and Bill continued working in the microwave field, eventually taking a position with Harris Acoustics in East Walpole. He remained with Harris through their move to Braintree before his retirement. In his retirement, Bill worked part time making deliveries for Gallo's Flowers in Walpole Center.

As a young man in New York, Bill enjoyed bowling and as he got older, he returned to the lanes with Epiphany Parish's bowling team, The Holy Rollers. His love for sports continued, as he loved following the Boston Sports, especially the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins. More than anything, Bill was a dedicated family man, who always put his wife and sons first.

Beloved husband of Janes E. (Brill) Emswiler.
Loving father David Emswiler and his wife Cindy of Wrentham, the late William A. Emswiler, IV, and the late Timothy J. Emswiler.
