William G. Cruickshank age 87 years died in his Walpole, Massachusetts home on Saturday, March 19, 2011. Born in Inch, Scotland on June 20, 1923; he was the son of the late Peter & Jane (Guthrie) Cruickshank. He served in the Canadian Army during World War II in the European Theatre of Operations. He was stationed in Holland, Italy, Belgium, and North Africa. He has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts for the past 57 years moving from New Brunswick, Canada.
He worked as a security guard for Kendall Mills in Walpole, Massachusetts and had previously worked as a plasterer.
Mr. Cruickshank enjoyed gardening, especially with his John Deere, walking, reading, and sitting on his front porch. He collected cans and was affectionately known as the "Can Man." Most of all however he was a family man, always enjoying the time that he spent with his family.
Beloved husband of the late Olive M. (Graham) Cruickshank. Loving father of Gary W. Cruickshank of Scituate, Linda L. Sylvia of Old Saybrook, CT, Peter E. Cruickshank of Sutton, Helen A. Baker of Franklin, and Michael T. Cruickshank of Walpole. Cherished grandfather of 7 and great grandfather of 1.
