Walter H. Pelrine

Walter H. Pelrine age 86, died in his East Walpole Home, surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 14, 2014. Born in Medford, Massachusetts on December 3, 1927, he was the son of the late Benjamin & Cora (Wilson) Pelrine. He graduated from Saint Clement's High School in Somerville in 1945. Upon graduation he entered into the United States Navy and poudly served his country during World War II. He returned to Northeastern University and earned his degree in Electrical Engineering in 1957. He was a resident of Walpole since 1959, moving from North Reading.

Mr Pelrine worked as an electrical engineer for the Mercury Company in Norwood, which was bought by the Fischbach Company in Brockton, where he retired from in 1997.

He was an active member in the Blessed Sacrament Church, serving in many different capacities including a money counter. In addition he was a member of the Boston Sparks, Walpole RTM, Walpole Zoning Board of Appeals and a 10 year volunteer at Norwood Hospital. He was a day sailor and enjoyed his time on the water and loved to travel. However, most of all he loved spending time with his family, whether it be his brothers and sisters, his wife and children and then his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Beloved husband of the late Margaret L. (Cunningham) Pelrine and the late Ann M. (Howley) Pelrine. Loving father of Walter F. Pelrine of Wrentham, William P. Pelrine of Merrimack, NH, Jeanne L. Haber of Paradise, CA, Kathleen T. Concannon of Scituate, Thomas M. Pelrine of Springfield, Christine A. Boc of Scituate, RI, James S. Pelrine of Westwood, Jack K. Pelrine of Brockton, and the late Ann Marie Engel. Cherished grandfather of 19 and great grandfather of 5. Step father of June Kelly of Norwood, Jim Howley of Ohio, Jeff Howley of Kingston, Jill Cunningham and Jeanne Wilke both of Franklin. Brother of the late Robert Pelrine, the late Larry Pelrine, the late Eileen Pelrine and the late Dot Freitas.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Walter's Life Celebration on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 4-8 PM and Friday, June 20, 2014 from 8:30 a'" 9:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Mary's Church, 176 Washington Street, East Walpole on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Gentiva Hospice, 406 Hemenway Street, Marlborough, MA 01752.
