Vivian Mary Pavidis

November 1, 1922 — June 7, 2015

Vivian Mary (Mulligan) Pavidis "VIV 007" age 92, passed away on June 7, 2015, from heart related issues, in the Maples Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham, Massachusetts. Born in North Andover, Massachusetts on November 1, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Melville T. and Myrtle E. (Foley) Mulligan and was one of four children. She graduated from Quincy High School with the class of 1940 and continued her education at the Carney Hospital School of Nursing, from which she graduated in 1944.

Vivian took a position as a registered nurse at the Norwood Hospital, working in many different departments over her 40 year long career. While working at the hospital she was also very active with the Heartbeats Variety Shows in various nursing homes in the area.

She was an avid dancer, and loved attending dances at the Lakeview Pavilion Dance Hall in Wrentham. It was while at one of these dances that she met her soon to be husband Tony. In October of 1949, Anthony F. Pavidis of Canton married Vivian M. Mulligan of Dorchester. Together they welcomed their three children, Richard, Donald, and Peggy.

After settling in Norwood, Massachusetts, Vivian became a member of Saint Catherine of Siena Church and the Catholic Women's Club. As a devoted mother, she volunteered as a chaperone and nurse for the Norwood Debonnettes and Debonnaires Drum Corp. In addition, she was the Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 70 in Norwood.

In her spare time, Vivian enjoyed bowling in a weekly league, loved working in her garden and taking care of her yard and home.

Loving mother of Richard A. Pavidis, Margaret A. Garner, and the late Donald F. Pavidis.
Cherished grandmother of Peggy, Sarah, and David Pavidis and Aaron and Brian Grossman and great grandmother of Nichole, Madison, Cooper, Benjamin, and number 5 on the way.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Vivian's Life Celebration on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 4-8PM and Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 9-9:30AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Catherine of Siena Church in Norwood on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery in Norwood.
