Victor J. Silvi

Victor J. Silvi age 93 years died in the Epoch of Sharon Nursing Facility in Sharon, Massachusetts on Monday, August 16, 2010. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on December 10, 1916; he was the son of the late Giacomo and Giovanina (Ferri) Silvi. He attended Walpole High School. Mr. Silvi has been a resident o Sharon, Norfolk, Mansfield and Walpole, Massachusetts and his winter home in Bradenton, Florida.

He worked as a custodian for the Walpole Public Schools for over 35 years, retiring in 1981. During World War II he worked in the Fall River Shipyards.

Mr. Silvi was a member of the Italian American Club, where he played Bocce and was a former Bocce Champion. He enjoyed tending his fruit trees at his Florida home. Beloved husband of the late Adelia (Odoardi) Silvi. Loving father of George J. and his wife Paula Silvi of Norfolk and Donna M. and her husband Larry Giandomenico of Platsburg, NY. Cherished grandfather of 6 and great grandfather of 5. Brother of Mila Camelio of Walpole, the late Attilio Silvi, Guido "Guy" Silvi, Frances Ciannavei, Vincenza Nolfi, Mary Civita, Peter Silvi, Sr., and Emilio "Mimi" Silvi. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Thursday, August 19, 2010 from 4-7PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery Walpole, Massachusetts.
