Timothy F. Sullivan, Sr. of Hingham, age 92 years died in the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, Massachusetts on Sunday, May 16, 2010. Born in Walpole, Massachusetts on May 2, 1918; he was the son of the late James A. & Mary E. (Spillane) Sullivan. He graduated from Walpole High School with the class of 1936. Mr. Sullivan served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He has been a resident of Hingham since 1965.
He was a master engraver, working at Finch Engraving Company in Boston, Massachusetts. While there, he created the engraving plates for the Red Sox and Bruins.
Mr. Sullivan enjoyed raising standard poodles.
Beloved husband of the late Majorie (Powers) Sullivan who passed away on April 14, 2010. He is survived by his loving children: his daughter Karen Sullivan of Hingham; his son Timothy Sullivan, Jr. and his wife Diane of Hull; and his son William Sullivan and his wife Dawn of Brockton. Timothy will be missed forever by his five grandchildren; Tara, Maeve, Melissa, Bridget, and Adam, as well as one great granddaughter Neila Mae Martin. He was the brother of Phyllis Butters of Norwood. He is predeceased by his parents, his brothers James Sullivan and Richard G. Sullivan, and his grandson, Timothy Sullivan, III.
A private burial ceremony was held this week. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Timothy's name to South Shore Hospital 55 Fog Road, Weymouth, MA 02190. Arrangements by J.H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home Walpole.
