Timothy Gemelli, age 48, passed away peacefully in his Wrentham, Massachusetts home on Friday, October 23, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on November 17, 1966, he was raised in Walpole and graduated from Walpole High School with the class of 1984. He continued his education at the Wentworth Institute of Technology, graduating in 1987.
Tim married the love of his life, Ann Marie Burke in Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole on May 17, 1992. Shortly after, he began his career with Fidelity Investments in 1994 as a systems designer. In 1996, Tim and Ann Marie settled in Wrentham to raise their young family. As a devoted father, Tim loved the opportunity he had to coach his children in the WYBSA League and to truly become a dedicated member of the Wrentham Community. His sense of humor and easy going style made an impact on everyone he met.
As his career began to grow with Fidelity, Tim became an integral member of the Corporate Security Team. He traveled the world extensively and frequently visited India, China, Ireland, and England, making lifelong friends along the way. Over time, Tim was promoted to the position of Design Director of the Corporate Security Team and was responsible for overseeing the security systems for Fidelity around the world.
As a hard working perfectionist, Tim enjoyed landscaping his yard and taking on various projects in and around his house with his many tools. As a dedicated family man, he loved taking trips with his family to Disney World, Cape Cod, Maine, and the White Mountains. Family was the most important thing to him and he always took the time to talk, listen or help in any way he could. As an avid Red Sox Fan, he would purchase 10 game ticket packages every year and looked forward to showing his children Fenway Park. However, as everyone knew, Sunday brought out Tim's passion for the New England Patriots. He followed his pre-game ritual of hanging out under his tarp covered deck with his TV and cigar before having his extended family over to watch the big game. These Sundays were cherished by Tim not only for the excitement of the game, but also for his love of having his family close.
Sadly in October of 2013, Tim was diagnosed with ALS. His family, friends and community rallied around him, making various donations and holding multiple fund raisers. The success of these events was due in large part to his loving godmother Auntie Betsy Gemelli's dedicated efforts. His colleagues from Fidelity generously donated their time and efforts to one of their own renovating Tim's basement to make it accessible for him. On July 5, 2014, during the ceremony at Fenway to honor Lou Gehrig, the Boston Red Sox gave Tim the opportunity to throw the first pitch, an honor he would never forget.
