Thomas William Quinn

Thomas William Quinn, of Walpole, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away suddenly on Oct 17 at the age of 14.

Tommy was born on January 20, 1999.

Beloved son of Thomas and Julie (Caulfield) Quinn of Walpole. Loving brother of Patrick Thomas and Kevin Michael of Walpole. Devoted grandson to Mary Quinn of West Roxbury and the late Thomas Quinn and to John and Ann Caulfield of Dedham. Nephew to Sheila and Paul Stapleton of West Roxbury, Kathleen and Sean Conley of Virginia Beach, VA, John Caulfield of Mount Lake Terrace, WA, Michael Caulfield of Walpole, Marie Caulfield of Charlestown, Jeanne and Kevin O'Neil of Southlake, TX, Kevin and Jennifer of Needham and Steven and Michele of Walpole Cherished by all of his cousins.

Tommy was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor at the age of six. He battled through chemotherapy with courageous perseverance. He never let the tumor dictate how he lived his life.

One of Tommy's passions was traveling with his family both domestically and abroad including Bermuda, Germany and Walt Disney World in Florida. He was known to plan the family' s vacations and was looking forward to his brother Patrick's high school graduation family trip to Hawaii in June of 2014.

Thomas was a member of the freshman class at Walpole High School and was recently elected to the Student Council and he was an honor student. He was also an avid basketball player who played on several teams, including both local and travel teams. He loved biking in Falmouth, swimming in the family pool and spending time with family and friends around the fire pit. These are the times he treasured the most especially with his brothers Patrick and Kevin.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 3-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church 10 Diamond Street Walpole on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 10AM. Interment will be in Saint Joseph's Cemetery in West Roxbury.

In lieu of flowers, donations made be in Tommy's name to Make a Wish Foundation or The Tommy Quinn Brain Tumor Research Foundation at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
