Thomas A. Margarita age 86 years died in the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Monday, February 15, 2010. Born in New York City, New York on March 23, 1923; he was the son of the late Anthony and Anna (Campo) Margarita. He served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He landed in Normady, France with the Joint Assault Signal Company (JASCO). Mr. Margarita has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts since 1962, moving from Dedham, Massachusetts where he spent 5 years.
He was an industrial engineer working for the Raytheon Company for 30 years in both Waltham and Norwood, Massachusetts.
Mr. Margarita was a member of the Norwood Bowling League and the Ponkapoag Golf Club.
Beloved husband of the late Claire M. (Flynn) Margarita. Loving father of Susan D. Anderson of Wareham and Thomas M. Margarita of Wrentham. Cherished grandfather of Eric Anderson, Michelle Roy, Samuel Margarita, and Ken Anderson; great grandfather of Kelsey and Christopher Roy. Brother of Anthony Margarita, Jr. and Mildred Casson both of NY. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Friday, February 19, 2010 from 4-7PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Terrace Hill Cemetery in Walpole, Massachusetts.
