Thomas William Hall

January 31, 1966 — September 1, 2020

Thomas William Hall, age 54, of Franklin, Massachusetts passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, Massachusetts.  Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on January 31, 1966, he was the son of the late John Maurice and Eleanor Rose (Repani) Hall.  Tom, or as his friends knew him, T-Bone, was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts, where at a young age he developed his love for the water.  He was a strong member of the Walpole Swim Team and as he entered Walpole High School, he began serving as a swimming instructor at the Center Pool.  Following his graduation from Walpole High in 1984, Tom went on to attend Northeastern University, earning his bachelor's degree in 1989.

Tom married his beloved wife, Lorraine A. Gentile, on September 11, 1993, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole.  The young couple initially made their home together in Foxboro for a short time before settling in Franklin, where they raised three children, Eleanor, Thomas, Jr., and Anna.  As a dedicated father, Tom worked hard to ensure his family always had what they needed, spending many years in the food distribution industry, most recently working with the Thompsen Food Distribution Company. In addition to working hard, Tom regularly stepped up to volunteer as a coach for his son's football team or his daughter's softball teams.

Throughout his life, Tom was a dedicated Boston Sports Fan, spending his autumn Sundays cheering for the New England Patriots and looking forward to the Boston Bruin's puck drop as winter set in.

Tom had the biggest heart and was willing to help anyone in need, living by the "Golden Rule."  He could light up any room he walked into and turning strangers into dear friends.  While Tom had wonderful social abilities, he most loved being surrounded by those he knew best, his loving family, they were his world.  A close second to his family were his dogs, first his Black Labs, Ubu and Maggie, and later his German Shepherds, Isabella and Gunner.  Tom lived an exemplary life and anyone who was lucky enough to meet him was better for it.

Beloved husband of Lorraine A. Hall.

Loving father of Eleanor J. Hall of Douglas, Thomas W. Hall Jr., and Anna M. Hall of Franklin.

Brother of Mary Ann Collins of Walpole, John M. Hall of Matthews, NC, Kathleen F. Somers of Walpole, Susan F. Donahue of Wrentham, and the late Joseph M. Hall.

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephew.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Tom's Life Celebration on Monday, September 7, 2020 from 4 to 8 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.

As a result of the ongoing and ever-developing health crisis in the world and with genuine concern for the people whom they love, Tom’s family has decided that his funeral mass and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
