Thomas M. Flaherty

Thomas M. Flaherty age 84 years died in the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, Massachusetts on Saturday, October 8, 2011. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 23, 1927; he was the son of the late Martin and Nora (Flaherty) Flaherty. He graduated from the Boston Technical High School with the class of 1945. Mr. Flaherty proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He has been a resdient of Walpole, Massachusetts since 1996 moving there from Canton, Massachusetts.

Mr. Flaherty was a sales representative for Flaherty and Associates as well as United Swimming Pool in Seekonk.

He enjoyed traveling, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed spending time with his friends. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Beloved husband of Barbara H (Dolan) Flaherty. Loving father of Thomas J. Flaherty of Quincy, William M. Flaherty of Falmouth, Robert P. Flaherty of Bridgewater, Barbara Jean Scannell of Walpole and the late Donna M. Russell. Cherished grandfather of Brittney, Thomas, Michael, Catherine, Chelsea, Daniel, Alana, Martin, and Grainne. Brother of Joseph Flaherty of Westford, the late Marie Messinger, Veronica Flaherty, and Eileen Hennessey.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 10:30AM. Visiting hours are Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 4pm to 8pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
