Thelma V. Gentili

Thelma V. (DiTomasso) Gentili, age 97, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham, Massachusetts.  Born in her parent's South Street home in Walpole, Massachusetts on July 10, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Mary (Saturno) DiTomasso.  As a lifelong resident of Walpole, Thelma graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1943.  Following her graduation, Thelma took a position with Kendall Mills in Walpole.
 
Thelma married her beloved husband, Guido "Guy" Gentili on May 14, 1958.  Together they made their home in Walpole, where they welcomed three daughters, Maryann, Ann Marie and Lisa.
 
More than anything, family was most important to Thelma.  In her younger years, she loved spending time with her siblings, singing with her brother, Joe's, swing band and dancing with her brother, Nick, at the German Club in Walpole, earning several awards.  As a devoted mother, Thelma raised her three girls in addition to holding a full-time position with Draper Brother's in Canton.  She was delighted at the birth of her grandchildren and loved taking an active role in their upbringing.

Loving mother of Maryann Falvey of Walpole, Ann Gentili-Stockwell and her husband, Mark, of North Attleboro, and Lisa A. de Melo and her husband, Marco, of Walpole.
Cherished grandmother of Darren Falvey of Walpole, Lauren Hernandez and her husband, Nick, of Norton, Kerry Falvey of Quincy, Zachary Stockwell of North Attleboro, Rebecca Stockwell of North Attleboro, Nicholas de Melo of Walpole, and Sophia de Melo of Walpole; and great grandmother of Charlotte Hernandez.
Sister of the late Virginia Daddario, Lucy Cogswell, Leo DiTomasso, Amideo "Bill" DiTomasso, Joseph DiTomasso, Yolanda DiMichele, Anthony "Tony" DiTomasso, and Nicholas DiTomasso.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
 
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Thelma's visitation on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 4 to 8 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10:30 AM.  Interment will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
