Susan J. (Arno) Ferioli, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on February 26, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Jane (Riley) Arno. She was raised in Norwood, where she graduated from Norwood High School with the Class of 1962. Susan continued her education at the Modern School of Fashion and Design in Boston.
Susan married her beloved husband, James J. Ferioli, on September 12, 1964 in Boston. Together, they made their home in Norwood, where Susan took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her first daughter, Laura. In 1970, Susan and Jim settled in Wrentham, Massachusetts, where they welcomed their second daughter, Paula. As her girls grew up and were both enrolled in school, Susan ventured out into the working world, taking a position with the Wrentham Elementary School, working as a Special Needs Teacher's Assistant. After her position was phased out in the early 1980s, Susan took an administrative assistant's position with Fay Paper Products in Norwood and later worked at Jones New York at the Wrentham Outlets. In 2000, Susan made her home in Walpole, Massachusetts, and continued to hold several part-time positions in retail until her retirement.
When she wasn't hard at work, Susan loved relaxing on the deck of her family's sailboat that was moored in Jamestown, Rhode Island. She and her husband, Jim, looked forward to day trips around Narragansett Bay as well as the occasional weekend excursion. Back at home, Susan was an expert at crafting everything by hand. She enjoyed knitting and crochet work, however it was her skills as a seamstress that stood out the most. Over the years, Susan made many prom, wedding, and bridesmaid dresses, and was always willing to help her friends and neighbors with any sewing projects. Susan enjoyed her quiet time too, working on one of her many jigsaw puzzles or reading a good book.
