Steven H. Lightner

Mr. Steven H. Lightner age 53 years died in his Franklin home surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 4th, 2009. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 22, 1956 , the son of Frank and Lorraine (Ragucci) Lightner. He graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1974. He entered the United States Marine Corp and served his country during the Vietnam War. He attained the rank of Sargeant.

A resident of Franklin for the past 15 years moving there from Walpole. Steven retired from the West Roxbury Veteran Administation Hospital in 2005, where he had been a HVAC mechanic for over 20 years. He also had run his own HVAC business from 1998 to 2008 Nor'east Refrigeration. Most recently he had begun working at Raytheon in North Andover.

He was a qualified instructor of Ving Tsun Kung Fu, he breeded German Shepards, and loved woodworking

Beloved husband of Karen E. (Dane) Lightner. Loving father of Angela E. Lightner, Steven Q. Lightner, and Austin S. Lightner all of Franklin. Devoted son of Lorraine (Ragucci) Lightner of Foxboro and the late Frank Lightner. Brother of Maureen Lightner-Hanson of Foxboro, Jan Lightner Flynn of Foxboro, the late Gary Lightner, the late William Lightner, and the late Laura Brigandi. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from 4PM to 8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment to be private.
