Stephen F. O'Neil

Stephen F. O'Neil, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Morton Hospital in Taunton, Massachusetts. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on July 28, 1947, he was the son of the late William and Monica (McDonough) O'Neil. He was raised in the Roslindale area of Boston, where he graduated from Roslindale High School with the Class of 1965.

Following his graduation, Stephen took a position with Consolidated Services in Westwood, working alongside his brother, Bill. He went on to take a position with the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Jamaica Plain, working as an orderly. In 1978, Stephen made his home in West Roxbury and seven years later, he took a job with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA). Stephen made his home in South Walpole, Massachusetts in 1989, and continued working with the MBTA, taking the role of chief inspector before his retirement in 2010.

When he wasn't hard at work, as an avid Boston sports fan, Stephen looked forward to cheering for his hometown teams. He also loved listening to music or taking a walk around the neighborhood.

Son of the late William and Monica (McDonough) O'Neil.
Brother of the late Richard O'Neil and the late William O'Neil.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

At Stephen's request, all services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements by James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, Walpole.
