Stephen E. Burns, age 56, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 6, 1961, he was the son of Edward G. and Patricia (Ellis) Burns. He was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts, graduating from Walpole High School with the Class of 1980. After graduation, Stephen began his career in carpentry working for local construction companies.
Stephen married his beloved wife of 31 years, Donna O. Slezas, on June 6, 1987 in Saint George's Roman Catholic Church in Norwood. The young couple made their home together in Norwood and Stephen took a position with the Carpenter's Union, Local 33, in Boston. He and Donna settled in Norfolk, Massachusetts in 1990, where after a tragic construction accident that ended his career, Stephen took an active role in caring for and raising his children.
Stephen loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and as he got older, he moved into four wheels, purchasing a Ford Mustang that he took great pride in. As a lifelong carpenter, Stephen was always ready to help his family and friends with any projects that came up and ensured his own home and yard were well cared for. He loved spending time with his dogs, first Harley and most recently Charlotte, who was always by his side. More than anything, Stephen was a dedicated family man, who loved taking care of his wife and children.
Beloved husband of Donna O. (Danute Dana Slezas) Burns.
Loving father of Kathleen Burns of Vienna, Austria, Edward Burns of Attleboro, Victoria Burns of Norfolk, and Olivia Burns of Seekonk.
