Stephen Roy Brown, Sr., age 88, passed away in Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, Massachusetts on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. Born in Brookline, Massachusetts on January 2, 1929, he was the son of the late Shirley Brown, Jr. and Mary Melvina (Kinch) Brown. He was raised in Brookline, graduating from Brookline High School with the Class of 1947. He continued his studies at the Wentworth Institute of Technology, graduating in 1949. After graduation, Stephen enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1954, after earning the rank of Airman 2nd Class.
Stephen spent his working career as a mechanic, working for various companies, including, SS Pierce Corporation, the Cliquot Club, Coca Cola, the Kendall Company, and International Paper.
As an avid outdoorsman, Stephen spent countless hours at his home in New Hampshire and also passed his knowledge down to the next generation, serving as a Scout Leader for many years. He loved reading and watching just about anything on the History Channel.
Loving father of Stephen R. Brown, Jr of the Philippines, Robert A. Brown of East Providence, RI, William F. Brown of North Attleboro, Ellyn M. DiRienzo of Franklin, and Elizabeth J. Calkins of Douglas.
Cherished grandfather of 10 and great grandfather of 2.
