Stanley H. Upton

Stanley H. Upton, Jr. age 82 years died in his East Walpole, Massachusetts home on Tuesday, August 10, 2010. Born in Malden, Massachusetts on March 17, 1928; he was the son of the late Stanley H. and Flora (MacLeod) Upton. He graduated from Walpole High School with the class of 1947. Mr. Upton entered the United States Army and served his country as a Corporal. He has been a lifelong resident of East Walpole, Massachusetts. He worked as an insurance agent for the Prudential Insurance Company for 35 years, retiring in 1994. Mr. Upton enjoyed playing golf; traveling, especially to Army Reunions, and was an avid sports fan. His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends. Beloved husband of Marjorie C. (Smith) Upton. Loving father of Kathleen and her husband Haywood Coleman of Medfield, Chip Upton of E. Walpole, Susan and her husband Murray Miller of Foxboro, Scott Upton of Sagamore Beach, and Melissa and her husband Brian Sullivan of Foxboro. Cherished grandfather of Alecia Coleman, Chelsea Miller, Justin Miller, Shannon Upton, Shelby Upton, Tristen Upton, and Teagan Sullivan. Brother of Robert Upton of Onset, Richard Upton of Norwood, Dorothy Jenks of Stoughton, and the late Evelyn Quackenbush. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 10:00 AM Visiting hours are Friday, August 13, 2010 from 3-7PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery Walpole.
