Sandra Elizabeth Emswiler age 73 years died in the Maples Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham, Massachusetts on Friday, August 14, 2009. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 14, 1936; she graduated from Westwood High School with the class of 1953. She went on to graduate from Mount Ida Junior College with the class of 1955. She has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts since 1968, moving from Westwood, Massachusetts.
She owned and operated her own day care center in her home for 6 years, before opening the Village Green Day Care Center at the Epiphany Episcopal Church, which she ran for several years.
Miss Emswiler enjoyed reading, knitting, and spending time with her friends, however, she especially enjoyed caring for children.
Devoted daughter of the late William and Helen A. (Johnstone) Emswiler, Jr. Sister of William and his wife Jane Emswiler, III of Walpole. Aunt of William Emswiler, IV and Timothy J. Emswiler both of Walpole, and Lt. David and his wife Cindy Emswiler of Wrentham, great aunt of Courtney Emswiler of Wrentham and Christopher Emswiler of Bellingham. Niece of Mahlon and his wife Ann Johnstone of Walpole and Shirley Barret of Walpole. Devoted friend of Lianne Madden of Norwood and Mary and Paul Potter and Family of Walpole.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral service that will be celebrated at Epiphany Episcopal Church 62 Front Street Walpole on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours are Tuesday, August 18, 2009 from 4-7 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is in Maple Grove Cemetery Walpole, Massachusetts.
