Ruth Papasodero

Ruth Elizabeth Papasodero , age 86, passed away at the German Centre for extended care in Boston, Massachusetts on Wednesday, July 4th, 2018. Born in Dusseldorf, Germany on March 26th, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Alfons Diewel and Martha (Hansen) Diewel. Ruth spent her early years in Germany before coming to the US at 24 years of age in 1956.

Ruth made her home in Walpole, eventually settling in Westwood in 2011. Working as a seamstress for most of her life, Ruth spent 19 years at the well-known Simon & Sons clothing store in Needham. She had a reputation for her outstanding ability with the needle and sense of fashion. An avid lover of music and song, one could often hear her singing while she sewed.

In her spare time, Ruth loved knitting and crocheting, making hats and scarfs for her nieces and nephews, as well as many other fashion forward items for her friends and loved ones. She enjoyed tending to her gardens, watching her many plants grow and mature under her gentle hand. Animals also had a place in her heart and she adored watching them in their natural habitats.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend an hour of visitation Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 12Noon to 1PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Memorial service will be held at 1PM. Interment will be private.
