Russell K. McNeil

Mr. Russell K. McNeil age 71 years died unexpectedly in the Caritas Norwood Hospital on Monday morning, July 12, 2010. Born in Jamacia Plain on May 24, 1939, he was the son of Alexander and Jessie (Young) McNeil. He attended Boston Latin School, Roslindale High School and graduated in 1957 from Huntington Prep School. He entered into Boston University. Mr. McNeil had the opportunity to buy his first insurance agency while attending BU, he purchased many other small agencies and created the Russell K. McNeil Insurance Agency in West Roxbury and the Wrentham Insurance Agency in Wrentham.

He was a retired Captain in the Massachusetts National Guard.

Mr. McNeil was a resident of East Walpole since 1969, and a resident of South Yarmouth since 1987.

He was a member of the Shriners Allepo Lodge in Walpole and was a long time member and past president of the Roslindale / West Roxbury Kiwanis Club.

Mr. McNeil loved to attend to his flower gardens, his dogs, playing cribbage, fishing of all kinds, deep sea, rivers, ponds of any kind, and playing tennis. With all he loved to do, the greatest joy came from his grandchildren.

Beloved husband of Jane B. (Kirley) McNeil. Loving father of Nancy J. McNeil-Dunlap and her husband Scott of N. Attleboro, Robert B. McNeil and his wife Barbara A. of Taunton, William F. McNeil and his wife Jennie-June of Bridgewater,and Jennifer B. McNeil of East Walpole. Cherished grandfather of Nicole, Julie-Anne, Joseph, Robert, Kimberly, Russell, Dwyn and Jessie. Brother of Dorothy McNeil Schultes of Melrose the late Dr.Richard Schultes,and the late Alexander H. McNeil and his wife Virginia McNeil of Dedham. Brother in law of Janet F. and her husband Charles "Chick" Grant of East Walpole. Also survived many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral Service that will be held in the Union Congregational Church 55 Rhodes Avenue East Walpole on Friday morning, July 16, 2010 at 10AM. Visiting hours are Thursday, July 15, 2010 from 4pm to 8pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Memorial donations may be made to: Union Congregational Church Memorial Fund 55 Rhodes Avenue East Walpole, Massachusetts 02032.
