Roy D. Ramsdell

August 9, 1965 — November 19, 2021

Roy D. Ramsdell, age 56, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on August 9, 1965, he was the devoted son of the late Sylvester L. and Doris B. (Anderson) Ramsdell. Raised in Walpole, Massachusetts, he graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1983.

Following graduation, Roy continued to make his home in Walpole. He liked working outdoors, and was employed by local construction companies throughout his career. In particular, he was a longtime employee of Giuseppe Masonry of Walpole. As an avid sports fan he followed the Bruins, Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics fervently. During his school years he played on the baseball and hockey teams and particularly excelled on the golf team. He played basketball and softball recreationally in Walpole after high school, as well as serving as a softball umpire.

He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Donna Newbower and her husband, Ronald, of Acton, and by his brother Paul Ramsdell and his wife, Deborah, of Framingham. Roy had been predeceased by his older brother Alan Ramsdell of Walpole. As the loving uncle of David and Daniel Newbower, and as the nephew of Arthur Ramsdell, Roy will be dearly missed. He leaves five grandnieces and nephews as well as several cousins.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Roy's graveside service on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Rural Cemetery, Pemberton Street at North Street, Walpole.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to WalpoleMedia.tv, a volunteer non-profit covering local sports and news.
