Ross Jay Lepper, age 89, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday, March 20, 2015. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on September 12, 1925, he was the son of the late Earl C. and Frances (Connolly) Lepper. As a life long resident of Walpole, Massachusetts, Ross graduated from Walpole High School with the class of 1943. After graduation, he proudly served his country ini the United States Navy during World War II. He served on board the USS Birmingham as a Electronics Technicians Mate 2nd Class taking place in the Philippine Liberation. He was honorably discharged in 1946 after earning 2 Purple Hearts and a Commendation Ribbon from Admiral Halsey. After the outbreak of the Korean War, Ross was recalled to serve in the Navy. He proudly served his country for a second time, on board the USS LST 1069. He was honorably discharged in 1952.
Ross later graduated from the Wentworth Institute of Technology and began his own company, Ross J. Lepper Electrical Contractor in Walpole. He later served as the Electrical Inspector for towns of Walpole, Sharon and Norwood and was a member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors.
As a devoted resident of the Town of Walpole, Ross took an active role in his community by serving as a Call Fireman and a Member of the Civil Defense Program. In addition, he was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) in Norwood for many years.

Loving father of Earl and his wife Carroll Lepper, Bridget, Patrick, and Maya of New York.
Also survived by his loving family Ginny and her husband Tom Mullane, Sharon, Kathleen and Karen Ann.
Cherished grandfather of 6 and great grandfather of 2.
Also survived by his beloved sister of Doris Hoeft of Somerset, and with gratitude to his late sister and brother Arlene Wilson and LeRoy Lepper.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Ross' Life Celebration on Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 1-3PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Funeral Home Service will begin at 2:30 PM Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dorothy Linnea Idman Lepper Scholarship, c/o Walpole Scholarship Foundation P.O. Box 5, South Walpole, MA 02071.
