Rosemary A. Crifo

February 2, 1926 — April 24, 2015

Rosemary A. (Smith) Crifo, age 89, died peacefully of natural causes in her Walpole, Massachusetts home on Friday, April 24, 2015. Born in South Boston on February 2, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Sarah (Toland) Smith. She graduated from Gate of Heaven High School in South Boston with the class of 1944.

Some of her fondest memories as a young girl were the years she spent living with her family in Atkinson and Hampstead, New Hampshire.

Rosemary and her husband Angelo moved from Roslindale to Walpole in 1983. She took a position with the Ashmont Discount Supply Company in Walpole in 1984.

In her spare time, Rosemary enjoyed knitting, cooking and baking. She would routinely cook and bake for her neighbors on Mallard Lane, especially those who were sick and bedridden. She also had a love for animals, especially her cats.

Beloved wife of the late Angelo J. Crifo. Loving mother of Diane M. Loupo of Dedham, Laura Lee Zanghetti of Walpole, Salvatore C. Crifo of Walpole, and Angelo (Buddy) J. Crifo, Jr. of Newburyport. Beloved sister of Harry E. Smith, Jr. of New Hampshire. Cherished grandmother of the late Gina Loupo, William and Joseph Zanghetti, Robin, Shawn and Lilyana Crifo. Great grandmother of William and Kristina Cosgrove, Nicholas Zanghetti and Raelyn Crifo.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Rosemary's Life Celebration on Sunday, May 3, 2015, from 1-3 PM, with a short service to follow, in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. Interment will be private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130.
