Rose F. Falvey

October 18, 1925 — May 10, 2016

Rose F. (Albanese) Falvey, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 18, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Oreste and Angelina (Bruno) Albanese. She was raised in the Hyde Park area of Boston and graduated from Hyde Park High School with the Class of 1942.

After graduation, Rose took a position with Boston Edison working in drafting as well as holding secretarial roles. While working at the Edison Company, she met her soon to be husband John Falvey. Rose and John were married on September 4, 1950 and initially made their home in the suburbs surrounding Boston. In 1962, Rose moved her young family to Walpole, where she took on the role of a homemaker. Even though she had the full time job of caring for and raising her family, Rose found time to become involved in several programs at Blessed Sacrament Church. She was a teacher at the Church's nursery school and regularly volunteered, taking part in any project for the Church. As her daughter, Janis, became involved in Girl Scouts, Rose took an active role as a leader for her daughter's troop. Because John maintained his position with Boston Edison, he traveled for business often, Rose loved traveling with him, allowing her to see various parts of the country.

In 2005, Rose left her beloved Town of Walpole moving to Denville, New Jersey, bringing her closer to her family. She made her home at Franciscan Oaks where she remained very active, volunteering in the market place as well as becoming a member of the Mile Walkers Club. She also spent many hours volunteering at Saint Mary's Church.

Rose enjoyed knitting and embroidery work, however more than anything, Rose loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed hosting family gathering and holidays, where she could care for everyone with her wonderful food and after moving to New Jersey, she loved taking an active role in her daughter's life, helping care for her young family.

Beloved wife of the late John Joseph Falvey of Walpole.
Loving mother of John Richard Falvey of Lewiston, NY and Janis Falvey Wilson of New Jersey.
