Ronald James Westover, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at his home in Walpole, Massachusetts. Born in Plattsburg, New York on January 10, 1959, he was the son of the late Richard L. and Shirley A. (Allen) Westover. Ronald was raised in Braintree, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Braintree High School with the Class of 1977. Following his graduation, Ronald took a position with a local contractor, working to revitalize the Boston Public Schools. In addition to working construction during the day, he spent many evenings at a parking garage near the Boston Garden, facilitating traffic in and out.
Ronald later settled in Stoughton, Massachusetts, where he raised his two children, Ashley and Derek. He took a position with Shaw's Supermarket in Stoughton and later began helping at the Saint Vincent de Paul storefront, unloading large donations from the trucks. His career later brought him to Cambridge SoundWorks in Dedham, working in the warehouse before taking a position with Garber Brothers in Stoughton, where he worked in the freezer department. Ronald worked hard to provide a wonderful life for his family, often working two or three jobs at a time. He delivered newspapers in East Bridgewater daily and spent many weekends delivering margarita machines for backyard cookouts and parties. In more recent years, Ronald took a job with Spectrum Quartz in Norwood, delivering large slabs of material to various customers. Following his retirement in 2019, Ronald made his home in Walpole, Massachusetts.
While he worked hard, Ronald never lost sight of what was most important, his loving family. At the end of a long week, the only thing he wanted to do was come home to his children, as this was the time he truly treasured. He looked forward to days spent with his family, inviting everyone over for a party, centered around his beloved Boston sports teams.
