Ronald A. Fucile

Ronald A. Fucile, age 86, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023, at the Ellis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norwood, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 7, 1937, he was the son of the late Peter and Henrietta (Corradi) Fucile.  Ron was raised in South Boston and graduated from Boston Technical High School with the Class of 1955.  Shortly after graduating, Ron enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country.  Ron was recalled to active duty in 1961, spending a year deployed in France.  He was honorably discharged in August of 1962, having earned the rank of Airman Second Class.

Ron married his beloved wife, Beverly A. Thomas, on September 14, 1963, at Gate of Heaven Church in South Boston.  They made their first home in Watertown, Massachusetts, before moving to Walpole where they settled in 1970.  Ron returned to his education, utilizing the G.I. Bill, taking courses at Northeastern University to earn his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.  With his degree in hand, Ron took a position with GTE Sylvania, working on the Minuteman Intercontinental Missile Project.  Ron remained with GTE until his retirement in 1994.  After some well-deserved time off, Ron decided retirement wasn't for him.  He applied for the position of Town Clerk in Walpole and was awarded the job in 1995.  Ron served the citizens of Walpole for twenty years before his retirement in 2015.

More than anything, Ron loved being with his family.  He looked forward to hosting his relatives for the holidays at his home and was always present at family events throughout the year.  At the end of the get togethers and parties, Ron settled in for some quiet time, reminiscing about the fun that he had or catching a game on television.

Beloved husband of the late Beverly A. (Thomas) Fucile.

Loving father of Cara L. Fucile of Fall River and the late Christopher A. Fucile.

Cherished grandfather of Jennifer L. Noble and her husband, Gregory, of Walpole; and great grandfather of Paul Christopher Noble, Arthur Edward Noble, and Izabela Cora Noble.
