Robert Paul Sampson, age 70, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022, at the Royal Falmouth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Falmouth, Massachusetts. Born in Newton, Massachusetts on April 30, 1952, he was the son of the late Sylvester J. and Mary Ellen (McDade) Sampson. He was raised in Newton, where he graduated from Newton High School with the Class of 1970.
After high school, Bob took a position with his father's trucking company, Sampson's Express and made his home in Walpole, Massachusetts. After his father's passing, Bob, along with his brothers, became a co-owner of the business, maintaining operations for several years. Bob later returned to his education, earning his nursing certificate and becoming a licensed practical nurse. He took his new skill set to the Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton, where he helped many students over the years. More recently, Bob took a position with Rockwood, Inc in Walpole, helping out wherever he could.
Bob's family wishes to thank the staff at the Royal Nursing Center for their unwavering care given and kindness shown to Bob during his stay.
Loving father of the late Robert Thomas "Sammy" Sampson and his surviving wife, Kristy Anne Vincelette-Sampson.
Cherished grandfather of Javin Vincelette and Karma Sampson.
Devoted brother of Kathleen S. Hansen and her husband, Kenneth, of East Falmouth, Mary Brunette and her spouse, Sandra Silva, of Falmouth, Sylvester J. Sampson Jr. and his wife, Frances, of Falmouth, John Sampson and his wife, Elizabeth, of Lakeville, Elizabeth Parlatore and her husband, Gerardo, of Lakeville, and the late Thomas Sampson.
Also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Bob's visitation on Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 2 to 4 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.
