Robert V. Miethe

Robert V. Miethe age 87 years died in the Ellis Nursing Center in Norwood, Massachusetts on Tuesday, April 21, 2009. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 10, 1922, he was the son of the late Joseph G. and Theresa (Kamp) Miethe. He graduated from Boston Latin High School and went on to graduate from Boston College with the class of 1944. Mr. Miethe served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He has been a resident of Norwood, Massachusetts for the past 57 years moving there from Dorchester, Massachusetts.

He worked as an engineer for AT&T for 37 years.

Mr. Miethe was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Norwood, Massachusetts.

He enjoyed photography, listening to classical music, camping in Maine, and world travel; but he most especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Beloved husband of Helena W. (Wessling) Miethe. Loving father of Helena F. Costello of Walpole, Mary E. Carlson of Wrentham, Robert V. Miethe, Jr. of FL, David J. Miethe of Walpole, and Jean M. Goulet of Franklin. Cherished grandfather of 11 and great grandfather of 3. Brother of the late Karl H. Miethe and Anna T. Miethe. Brother in Law of Charlotte T. Will of Norwood. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in Saint Catherine of Siena Church Washington Street Norwood on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 9AM. Visiting hours are Friday, April 24, 2009 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is in Saint Joseph's Cemetery West Roxbury, Massachusetts.
