Robert E. "Bob" Michel

Robert E. "Bob" Michel, age 82, passed away peacefully in his Walpole, Massachusetts home on Saturday, February 17, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Dover on January 13, 1936, he was the son of the late Philip and Edyth (Forsythe) Michel.

Bob married his loving wife, Vivian M. Cyr, on December 7, 1957 in Saint Mary's Church in East Walpole. A year later the young couple made their home together in Walpole, where they raised their three children, Lynda, Cheryl, and Mary. Bob worked various jobs to support his family before retiring as a route driver for Peggy Lawton in East Walpole in 2001.

After his retirement, Bob enjoyed traveling to the mountains of Vermont, with his close friend, Fred, where he spent countless hours hunting and fishing. Bob and Vivian sold their family home and after settling into his new community, Bob formed many friendships with his new neighbors. Bob enjoyed his quiet time too, spending time watching the local birds and working on word searches and crossword puzzles. Affectionately called "Papa" by his family and countless others, Bob was a dedicated family man, who was devoted to his wife and was always available to help his girls and grandchildren.

Loving father of Lynda S. Michel Benson of Plainville, Cheryl Michel Barnes and her husband Walter of Walpole, and Mary Elizabeth O'Brien and her husband Colin Mark O'Brien III of Georgia.
Cherished grandfather of Melissa Mae Benson of Plainville and Colin Mark O'Brien, IV of Walpole and great grandfather of Colin Mark O'Brien, V of Georgia.
Brother of David Michel of Washington, Barry Forsythe of Franklin, the late Donald Michel, Philip Michel, and Patricia Hamm.
