Mr. Robert F. McLaughlin passed away in the Harrington House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Walpole on Saturday, January 27, 2007.

Robert was born in Hardwick, MA. He spent much of his life living in Hyde Park, prior to moving to Walpole in 1984. He was a graduate of Hyde Park High School.

He worked at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy as a foreman of the welders. Robert then went into the taxi service business. He was the owner of Michell's Taxi Service in Dedham for over 20 years. He also drove limousines for weddings and funerals. Later on, he stayed driving limousines for Brandy Funeral Home in the Forest Hills section of Boston, as well as various other funeral homes in the area. Ronbert retired in 1987.

He enjoyed fishing and reading. Robert was a member of the Saint Joseph's Bowling League of Hyde Park. He was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. Most of all he loved just spending time at home with his wife Gertrude to whom he was married to for 66 beautiful years.

Beloved husband of Gertrude (Lynch) McLaughlin. Loving fatgher of Marjorie A. Robitaille of Norton, Elaine M. McLaughlin-Sheppard of Norwood, Jean M. Schmidt of Weymouth, and the late Robert F. McLaughlin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Mary's Church, E. Walpole, on Tuesday @ 10AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Monday 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment in Saint Joseph's Cemetery, W. Roxbury. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal Street Watertown, MA 02472 or the charity of your choice.
