ROBERT M. KNOX Age 89 years died on Monday Evening December 18th, 2006 in the Caritas Norwood Hospital, Norwood , Massachusetts . Born on April 25, 1917,in Hardgate, Scotland. He moved to East Walpole in 1920, graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1936. Entered into the United States Army and served his country during World War II in the South Pacific. Mr. Knox worked many years at the Box Shop, part of Bird & Son , East Walpole, as a machinist in the shoe box division. Retiring in 1980, when the box shop closed.

He loved sports especially watching ice hockey , played tennis in High School. He began lawn bowling along with his wife , while they wintered in Boynton Beach Florida for the past 20 years. He also enjoyed his boat and home on the Cape. An avid reader and all around handyman. His true love was for his family, he enjoyed travelling with his wife, spending time with his daughter and her family, whether it was at home or on vacation. His greatest pleasure was watching his grandson play soccer. Longtime member of the United Church in Walpole Beloved husband of Berniece B. (Potter) Knox Loving father of Elizabeth Knox-Lupfer and her husband Daniel J.Lupfer of Norfolk Cherished grandfather of David Thorp, Matthew Lupfer and Christopher Lupfer all of Norfolk. Brother of the late Peter Knox also survived by his cousin Margaret Hunter of East Walpole. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Memorial Service to be held in the The United Church in Walpole 30 Common Street Walpole on Friday, December 22, 2006 @ 11 AM. Visiting hours are Thursday, December 21, 2006 4pm to 8pm at James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Memorial Scholarship Fund of The United Church in Walpole 30 Common Street Walpole, MA 02081.
