Robert E. Johnson

Robert E. Johnson age 78 years died in his Bridgewater, Massachusetts home on Sunday, April 24, 2011. Born in New York City on July 24, 1932; he was the son of the late John W. and Mary E. (Glascott) Johnson. He graduated from Power Memorial High School with the class of 1950, and later graduated from Fordham University with the class of 1954. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He has been a resident of Bridgewater for the past 10 years moving there from Taunton where he lived for 3 years, and the Walpole Norwood area before that.

Mr. Johnson was an administrative manager for Electical Controls, Inc in Holbrook for 8 years, retiring in 1997.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus New York City Council, the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks in Norwood, and the Bridgewater VFW Post 2125.

Beloved husband of Janet M. (Lacey) Johnson and the late Mary Ann (Powers) Johnson. Loving father of Denise B. and her husband Jeffrey Mattson of Taunton, Karen A. and her husband Ronald Ganz of Sharon, and Glen A. and his wife Jessica Johnson of Pt. Pleasant, NJ. Cherished grandfather of 6.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in St. John the Evangelist Church 210 Central St. East Bridgewater on Thursday at 9AM. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 3pm to 8pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is in Saint Francis Cemetery Walpole.
