Robert Wellman Howe

Robert Wellman Howe, age 88 years, died in the Eagle Pond Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in South Dennis, Massachusetts on Friday, March 21, 2014. Born in Braintree, Massachusetts on January 9, 1926, he was the son of the late Chester and Margaret (Geehan) Howe. He graduated from Braintree High School with the class of 1943. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He was discharged in 1946 as a Radio Operator 1st Class. He has been a resident of Dennis, Massachusetts since 1988 moving from Walpole.

Bob owned and operated Ellis and Howe Mobil in Walpole Center before moving to Highway Mobil at the corner of Route 1 and Route 27 in Walpole. He retired in 1986 after 40 years of service. In his retirement, he worked part time for Orleans Auto Supply, delivering auto parts on Cape Cod.

He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. Bob loved spending time with his family, especially at his Cape Cod home.

Beloved husband of the late Emily (Presentato) Howe. Loving father of Marybeth Howe of Boston and Robert W. Howe, Jr. of Walpole. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Bob’s Life Celebration on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 4-7 PM and Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 9:30 -10 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Stroke Association, 9707 E. Easter Lane Suite B, Centennial, CO 80112.
