Robert L. Gilson

September 17, 1926 — February 20, 2012

Robert L. Gilson age 85 years died in the Newfield house in Plymouth, Massachusetts on Monday, February 20, 2012. Born in Lewiston, Idaho on September 17, 1926, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Cecile D. (Beavers) Gilson. He graduated from Lewiston High School with the class of 1944. Mr. Gilson proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He went on to graduate from Washington State Univeristy with a M.B.A. in 1951. He has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts since 1965 moving there from Sharon, and previously from Chicago.

Mr. Gilson was the Director of Marketing Services for Kendall Mills in Boston from 1951 through 1984.

He was a member of the Benevolent Protecive Order of Elks (BPOE) in Norwood and the Walpoel Rotary Club. He enjoyed spending winters in Naples, Florida and attending the Walpole Concert on the Common series. He was an avid reader and traveled across the country.

Mr. Gilson will be lovingly missed by all and always have a place in our hearts.

Beloved husband of the late Marilyn D. (Domke) Gilson. Loving father of Deborah L. and her husband Kevin Morrissey of North Attleboro, John L. Gilson of Walpole, Jeffrey R. and his wife Patricia Gilson of Easton,and Alan E. and his wife CarolAnne McGowan-Gilson of Millbury. Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Sarah, Hailey, and Lindsey. Loving companion of Pauline Pyle of Plymouth.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visiting hours in James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole on Friday, February 24, 2012 from 4PM to 7PM with a funeral service at 7PM. Interment will be private.
