Robert Allen Bishop, 83, a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories. Born in Framingham, MA, to the late Walter and Dorothy (Allen) Bishop, Robert lived a life full of love, hard work, and family.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Kathleen Walsh, who was by his side through all of life’s seasons. He is also survived by his son, Mark Bishop of Tuftonboro, NH, his brother Jack Bishop (Carmen) of Moultonborough, NH, stepchildren Nicolle Walsh (John Austin) of South Walpole, MA, and Daniel Wassel (Maribeth) of Seattle, WA. He took great pride in his grandchildren, Julia Nolfi (Anthony) of Virginia Beach, VA, Steven Melanson of Boston, MA, and Audrey and Jack Wassel of Seattle, WA. He was blessed to be a great-grandfather to Kellum, Mila, and Lina Nolfi of Virginia Beach, VA.

Robert was predeceased by his daughter, Christine Bishop, who passed away in 2019, a loss that weighed heavily on his heart.

A resident of South Walpole and Southborough, Robert spent his summers at Lake Winnipesaukee, NH, where his passion for boating and love for the outdoors truly came alive. He found immense happiness teaching his grandchildren how to swim, jet ski, and fish. His nickname was “Captain Bob”, as he was an avid boater who made every summer visit to the lake memorable. His simple joys came from spending quality time with his family, especially at the lake.

Robert was a dedicated worker, spending many years at EVERSOURCE as a pipefitter. He was a graduate of Framingham High School and the Wentworth Institute, where he completed evening studies in machine drafting and design. His service to his country as a proud member of the U.S. Air Force spanned five years, with much of his time stationed in England.

A man of many passions, Robert was a lifelong lover of Hot Rods and a proud 45-year member of the Tyrods Hot Rod Club. A devoted hockey fan, Robert played in the “Old Men's League” in Southborough, MA, and coached his children in both hockey and soccer.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
