Rita Teresa McGrath

Rita Teresa (Carbone) McGrath age 79 years died in the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts on Friday, July 22, 2011. Born in Boston on Ocotber 19, 1931; she was the daughter of the late Sam and Rose (Ciampa) Carbone. She graduated from the Roxbury Memorial High School for Girls with the class of 1949. She has been a resident of East Walpole, Massachusetts for the past 42 years.

Mrs. McGrath worked for the Lydon-Murphy Insurance Company in Norwood, Massachusetts as their secretary for 12 years.

She was a member of Saint Mary's Parish in East Walpole. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, especially at Mosley's in Dedham, traveling to Fort Lauderdale, organic cooking, and keeping fit.

She was a very social person and leaves behind many friends.

Beloved wife of the late John P. "Jack" McGrath. Loving mother of Linda Collins of Acton, Karen Countie of Merrimac, Kerry McGrath Stark of Newburyport, and Jacqueline Swansburg of Mansfield. Cherished grandmother of John Countie,Jr., Erik Countie, Samantha Collins, Christina Collins , Alexander Collins, Kyle Swansburg, and Emma Swansburg. Sister of Ann Siracusa of E. Boston, Edith Masciulli of Saugus, Mildred Visconti of Stoughton, the late Mary Ann Carbone and the late Alec Carbone. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Saint Mary's Church 176 Washington Street E. Walpole on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 9:00 AM. Visiting hours are Monday, July 25, 2011 from 4pm to 8pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
