Richard A. Walsh

Richard A. "Dick" Walsh, Jr. age 70 years died in the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts on Saturday, February 6, 2010. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 2, 1939; he was the son of the late Richard A. and Mary Alice (Maloney) Walsh. He graduated from Hyde Park High School; he has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts for the past 44 years moving from Mattapan.

Mr. Walsh worked for MassPort as a cashier for 23 years.

He was an avid Boston sports fan, and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports.

Beloved husband of Joanne B. (White) Walsh. Loving father of Susan A. Matherson of Walpole, Thomas R. Walsh of Reading, Robert E. Walsh of Walpole, and Deborah L. MacDonald of Walpole. Cherished grandfather of 11. Brother of Patricia A. Casey of Norton and Maureen A. Walsh of Attleboro. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 9:00 AM. Visiting hours are Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole, Massachusetts.
