Richard L. Ordway, Sr., age 60, passed away peacefully in the Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. Born in Natick, Massachusetts on November 7, 1957, he was the son of the late Ronald and Nora (Gagnon) Ordway. He was raised in Natick, Massachusetts, attending Natick High School, graduating with the Class of 1975. After graduation, Rich began his long Roche Brothers career in Natick. It was while working in the West Roxbury location, that Rich met his wife, Cheryl O'Connor.
Rich and Cheryl were married on April 20, 1991 in the First Church of Dedham and made their home together in West Roxbury. They welcomed four children, Alexandra in 1993, Richard, Jr. in 1994, Matthew in 1996, and Samantha in 1998. Rich was truly dedicated to his career and family, eventually moving them out of the city, settling in the small town of Walpole. His hard work payed off, as he was called from working in the Roche Brothers stores to serve in their corporate office, where he remained until June of last year.
While Rich spent many hours working, he was most dedicated to his family. As a devoted father to his four children, Rich spent countless hours volunteering as a coach for various sports and was always his children's biggest cheerleader.
