Richard Joseph Medveskas age 68 years died in the Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Friday, December 23, 2011. Born in Norwood on July 6, 1943, he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Krill) Medveskas. He graduated from Walpole High School with the class of 1961 and later graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Boston. He has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts for the past year moving there from South Yarmouth and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
He was the former owner of Simply Silver in both Braintree and Provincetown. He was also a sales representative for General Food, Maxwell House Division.
Mr. Medveskas was a member of the Massachusetts Retailer's Association.
He loved spending time with people and enjoyed wintering in Fort Lauderdale.
Beloved husband of the late Zafa (Polczwartek) Medveskas. Loving father of Andrea Barberi of Stowe, VT, Charles Karparis of Montpelier, VT, Andrew Karparis of Plympton, and Zafa Smith of Easton. Cherished grandfather of Emily, Calvin, Abigail, Daniel, Alexa, and Adam. Brother of Joseph Medveskas of IL. Uncle of Kristen Christensen and Kevin Medveskas. Cousin of Thomas Shephard.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visiting hours in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole on Thursday from 4pm to 8pm. A graveside service will be held in Saint Francis Cemetery 1601 Washington Street Walpole on Friday at 11AM. Memorial donations may be made to: SNCARC 90 Clappboardtree Street Westwood, MA 02090.
