Priscilla A. Weatherbee

Priscilla Anne (French) Weatherbee passed away at Boston Medical Center on Friday, November 30th after a long and courageous battle with Amyloidosis. Priscilla (Cilla) was born on August 11, 1947 in Medford, the oldest of six children of the late Frank E. French, and Camilla (Powers) French. Cilla was raised in Belmont and graduated from Belmont High School. Cilla received her associate's degree from Endicott College and also pursued her Bachelor's degree from Boston University later in life. Cilla had a successful career as both a Tupperware Dealer and later as a realtor at the ReMax Real Estate Center in Walpole. Within the real estate community she was highly respected for her integrity, knowledge and love of helping people find the perfect home- especially young couples starting their lives together, and was inducted into the ReMax Hall of Fame. Cilla was an avid reader with a true appreciation for art, music and culture. She never missed an opportunity to visit a museum, enjoy a concert, or hear an author speak. No one could beat her at Scrabble and her vocabulary was unmatched. Cilla also loved a good party. For decades she hosted a Christmas afternoon party that became legendary. She was known for her hospitality and sense of fun. Her favorite holiday was the Fourth of July and every year she would travel into to the Esplanade with family and friends to enjoy the music and fireworks while decked out from head to toe red, white and blue. Cilla loved to travel and her favorite places to visit were Arizona and California. Cilla was also known for her love of hats and she enjoyed wearing her many hats to church and other occasions. She also valued her many friendships and always made time to see friends and to keep in touch with them including hand written notes.

Cilla was a long time member of the United Church of Christ in Walpole. The people of United Church were part of her extended family and she cherished time spent with them and at service. She was particularly involved with the church youth group and co-led many youth mission trips throughout the country. She was a member of various committees, including the Fellowship and Outreach Committees. In addition, she helped with the publicity and organized a game night at the Church. During her illness the people of United Church provided support to Cilla and her family on a daily basis and brought happiness, sustenance- both physical and spiritual- and joy to Cilla that cannot be adequately described.

Cilla was one of the founding members of the Teen Center in Walpole. She enjoyed knitting, watching the Patriots, and attending Red Sox Games. Most of all she was devoted to her children and grandchildren.

Cilla was the beloved wife of Stephen Weatherbee with whom she shared 43 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Caroline French Cunningham and her husband Paul of Melrose, Alan C. Weatherbee and his wife Brooke of West Roxbury, and Sarah Weatherbee Walker and her husband Matt of Boston. She was the loving Nana of Elizabeth and Charlotte Cunningham, Casey Weatherbee, and Jackson Walker. She was the caring sister of Frank E. French II and his wife Martha, Suzanne French, William L. French, John French and his wife Laura, Marybeth French and sister- in law to Nancy French. She is also survived by her stepmother, Leone French, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral service in the United Church 30 Common Street Walpole on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours are Monday. December 3, 2012 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Terrace Hill Cemetery in Walpole.
